The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has taken a significant step towards enhancing skill education in schools across India. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE), CBSE has mandated the establishment of ‘Composite Skill Labs’ in all CBSE-affiliated schools, particularly in emerging fields such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Robotics, IOT, Coding, AI, and 3D printing. We GoGlobalWays will help you to set up the composite skill lab that helps you meet the CBSE guidelines and provide your children with the platform needed for developing the skills needed for their success. As the world moves towards a more technology-driven future, it is crucial for students to be equipped with the skills needed towards a dynamic environment. This initiative is aimed at promoting practical, hands-on learning experiences that will help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
Why Composite Skill Labs with GoGlobalWays?
The NEP 2020 and NCF-SE emphasize the inclusion of skill education as a critical component of the curriculum from Class VI onwards. The focus is on equipping students with practical skills in various fields, ensuring students are better prepared for diverse career opportunities in the future.
The establishment of Composite Skill Lab with GoGlobalWays will focus on equipping these labs with advanced robotics kits and coding tools, enabling students to explore the exciting world of STEAM beyond conventional subjects. Composite labs are a crucial step in this direction.
GoGlobalWays has Distinctive 3-C Grading Rubrics for Evaluating Learning Outcomes are copyrighted and proprietary, which reflects the unique way of evaluating student’s progress and development.
- Curiosity: Sparking interest by encouraging students to design their own animations, stories, and games.
- Capacity: Developing problem-solving skills through coding for AI and mobile apps, preparing students for the future.
- Creativity: Encouraging students to design, build, and operate robots, helping them innovate and find solutions to real-world problems.
We will help you set up the composite skill lab that helps you meet the CBSE guidelines and provide your children with the platform needed for developing the skills needed for their success. Practical training in STEAM, Coding, AI,3D Printing, and Robotics enables students to understand complex concepts by applying them to real-world scenarios, which enhances their learning experience and helps them develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
How GoGlobalWays Helps You Set Up Composite Labs
GoGlobalWays offers a comprehensive solution for setting up Composite Labs, designed for a deep understanding of electronics, robotics, coding, AI, and 3D printing among students. Our curriculum follows a vertical learning approach, enabling students to progress from foundational concepts to complex projects as they advance through grades. This approach mirrors the progression seen in core subjects like math and science, ensuring that each step builds upon the previous one.
The curriculum is carefully aligned with key principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) and National Curriculum Framework (NCF), emphasizing practical, hands-on learning experiences that enhance creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Curriculum Overview:
Our curriculum for Composite Labs is crafted to engage students from an early age and continually challenge them as they progress through different grade levels. The curriculum is divided into three stages:
Grades 3-5:
One of the first things that happens in primary education is the students’ connection to Basic Electronics, where they learn the foundation of these two sciences. During this, the kids are allowed to introduce themselves to AI with the help of block-based coding. Learning code and hands-on work with electronic components are among the activities of component-based projects that offer them the first ideas in a cool and exciting way. This is the first influence of creativity and the establishment of a solid foundation for further studies.
Grades 6-8:
Whenever children go to middle school, the curriculum becomes detailed, which later will include the use of intermediate projects that involve sensors, motors, and some basic automation systems. Moreover, this course also includes Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT), where kids discover how interconnected devices can communicate and act in concert. In addition to this, the students will analyze and explain exact examples of electronics and robotics as they are used in the real world, thus gaining new capabilities to creatively solve a problem or modify a technology in daily life.
Grades 9-12:
When students are in high school, they are involved in more demanding projects such as Arduino-Based Programming and Integration. They get a lot of practice with their hands when they are programming sensors, motors, and other components. In this stage, in addition to electronics, they are introduced to advanced topics including Robotics, 3D Printing, Coding, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Students become proficient in hacking, making, and experiencing the brave new world of the latest technologies with such projects. With these they are helping to meet the real-world challenges of technology and be the innovators of the different areas.
Directive for Schools
It has been the resolution of the 139th session of the Governing Body of the CBSE that each School affiliated to the Board shall mandatorily have a Composite Skill Lab. The schools are allowed either to obtain a single Composite Skill Lab of 600 sq. ft. area for classes VI-XII or two different labs of 400 sq. ft. area each, one for classes VI–X and the other for classes XI–XII.
Implementation Plan
For Newly Affiliated Schools: A Composite Skill Lab with all relevant apparatus and machinery shall be an essential requirement of all schools seeking fresh affiliation with CBSE.
For Already Affiliated Schools: Schools already affiliated with CBSE shall establish a Composite Skill Lab with all relevant apparatus and machinery within three years from the date of the circular, that is 23rd Aug 2024.

Conclusion
Composite Skill Labs will be a giant leap in ensuring more holistic education wherein academically rigor coupled with practical skills finds sure an expression. It is in line with the global educational standards wherein skill-based education becomes an increasingly important constituent of the curriculum. The commitment of the institution, CBSE, reflects in terms of skill education as it has a broader vision to prepare the students for the future, equipping the students with the right skills to deal with the changing world effectively. And this impetus to achieve the same, all the schools that are affiliated to CBSE have to render them through collaboration and active participation.
It’s essential that most of the recently mandated Composite Skill Labs incorporate STEAM, Robotics, coding, AI, and 3D printing training to prepare students for the future. This is a sea change in the perception and delivery of education in India. CBSE schools would certainly ensure that students appearing from schools are both academically sound as well as skilled enough to survive in a rapidly changing technology-driven world by teaching these critical areas practically, hands-on to the students. By opening these laboratories, we are paving a road to a brighter future where students enjoy creative thinking, solve complex problems, and lead the way in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Let’s take this incredible opportunity to foster the next generation’s minds, our scientists, engineers, and innovators!
