Why to learn Mobile App Design?

The Smartphone is an information nexus in today’s digital age, with access to a nearly infinite supply of content on the web, coupled with rich sensors and personal data. However, people have difficulty harnessing the full power of these ubiquitous devices for themselves and their communities. Most smartphone users consume technology without being able to produce it.

Why MIT App Inventor?

MIT App Inventor is an online development platform that anyone can leverage to solve real-world problems. It provides a web-based “What you see is what you get” editor for building android mobile phone applications targeting the Android operating systems. It uses a GUI block-based programming language. To aid in development and testing, App Inventor software can be used to test and adjust the behavior of their apps in real time. In this way, anyone can quickly build a mobile app and immediately begin to iterate and test.

Why use block-based coding for a Mobile App designing course?

The visual programming of the software and the abstraction and compartmentalization of concepts into components and blocks allow the app inventor to focus more on decomposing students’ problems into solvable elements. 

The MIT App Inventor software’s abstraction of hardware capabilities and the reduction of complex logic into compact representations allows users to quickly and iteratively develop projects that address real-world problems.

Can I use an App Inventor without an android phone?

Yes. App Inventor includes an emulator (virtual phone on the computer screen) for the phone. The emulator can't do everything the phone can. For example, you can't shake it but you can create apps and try them out.

Am I able to upload my app to Google Play (the Android Market)?

Yes, of course

This normally shouldn't happen but in case it does it may be because your IP has been blocked. There are two things you can do to make your way around this situation:

- Wait for 24 hrs and then try reaching the webpage again.

- Use a VPN. Browsec VPN is a popular VPN extension for Chrome that you can use. Follow these steps to add it to your browser:

  1. Go to the Chrome Web Store and add the extension.
  2. Click on the icon of the extension. You will find it next to the address bar.
  3. Click on Protect Me and voila! Now you can kickstart your programming journey with this special programming course without any setbacks!
